Cancellation Policy

PAYMENT: To confirm your reservation full payment is required at the time of booking or 30 days prior to your arrival. By paying you are agreeing to our terms and conditions. Highlands reserves the right to decline any booking request. CANCELLATION: As a small family owned guest house on a remote island with very limited flights our business depends on maximizing occupancy. If you need to cancel your booking 30 days or more prior to your scheduled arrival you will be refunded 70% of the monies paid. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival we will not be able to issue any refunds. SECURITY BOND: For security reasons we will require you to provide us with a credit card upon check-in. TRAVEL INSURANCE: We strongly advise that our guests take out Travel Insurance to protect yourselves against unforeseen cancellations bad weather flight delays lost luggage hire car damage sickness/injury or other such events. Regrettably Highlands cannot accept responsibility for these circumstances. Norfolk Island is part of Australia and therefore covered by Medicare however hospital facilities are limited and medical evacuations may be necessary. CHILDREN: For safety reasons we regret that Highlands is not suited to children under the age of 12. MANAGERS: Highlands managers live onsite in separate apartments allowing for complete privacy but available for any help required. NON SMOKING: Highlands is a non smoking property.
