The picturesque site is in a natural setting amongst coastal vegetation. There are 12 campsites sheltered from strong winds. Port MacDonnell is located 9.7 kms (10 Minutes ) to the west and the popular Brown Bay is 3.6 kms to the east.
Allocated Sites Your booking is only for the site specified on your booking. Please ensure you carefully check before setting up camp as you may be requested to move if you occupy the incorrect site. It is advised that you check weather conditions prior to arrival, particularly during the Fire Danger Season, and check the National Parks and Wildlife Service website (www.parks.sa.gov.au) or call the CFS Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361. Council strongly suggests that on a day of Total Fire Ban you consider another location, due to accessibility constraints. Terms & Conditions Must be in a self-contained vehicle, which is defined as a vehicle that has toilet, washing, cooking and sleeping facilities. It must have sufficient holding capacity for fresh, grey and black water. The nearest waste dump facility is located at 1 Elizabeth Street, Port MacDonnell. · Maximum 3 nights stay at this site Campers must camp within designated areas only, be considerate of others, and keep noise to a minimum. It’s important to be aware of the natural risks, respect wildlife, keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails, and adhere to site speed restriction 10km/hr. Comfort fires are only permitted in the designated fire pits and must be conducted in accordance with CFS Regulations and Guidelines. No other fires are permitted on the site. Gas BBQs are permitted, except when a Total Fire Ban is declared. Dogs are allowed, but must be under effective control. Generators must only be used between: 9am and 8pm on Sunday 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday Advisory Warning It is advisable that these campsites are not used during catastrophic weather events. NOTICE – A person in breach of the District Council of Grant Free Camping Policy (ENVPOL 17) and/or By-Law No.2 (Local Government Land) may be issued a fine of $312.50 in accordance with Section 246 of the Local Government Act 1999. Termination of Permit The operator has the right to terminate a confirmed booking if the listed Terms & Conditions are breached. These Sites will be regularly patrolled by Community Rangers of the District Council of Grant
