Historical Cottage Farm Stay
Nestled on the Epicurean Way, in close proximity to some of the best wineries in Australia, Gabby's Cottage is the perfect country get away. It is the ideal location to explore the southern fleurieu, whether you love wine and great food, cycling, bush walking and beautiful countryside, it is all catered for.
The Cottage is a beautifully renovated circa 1850 iron stone cottage, with all modern amenities and the perfect place to relax beside the fireplace and enjoy a quiet moment to yourself. Immerse yourself in the beautiful country setting with the sheep and alpacas in the paddock next to the cottage.
The Cottage is renovated with modern amenities and has lots of natural light in the two front rooms with the addition of Velux skylights. It is a circa 1850 Iron stone cottage and has a great history within the area.
It is located on a 20 acre hobby farm, with horses, australian ponies, alpacas and sheep located in the surrounding paddocks. The animals are friendly, particularly the two hand raised sheep, Dumbo and Rambo, who love carrots and pats.
The property is in close proximity to some of the best wineries in the region, including Yangarra Estate (2 minutes away), Woodstock, Beresford, Samuels Gorge and Chapel Hill wineries (all within 10 minutes away) to name a few.
In the bedroom, there are remote controlled block out blinds to ensure a good nights sleep and no early wake ups. The lounge room has a nectre combustion fireplace, with wood provided to create that wonderful ambience. Ducted reverse cycle heating and cooling will also ensure the home is at a comfortable temperature for your stay.
The kitchen contains gas cooktop and electric oven for ease, if you decide to cook. With integrated dishwasher, fridge and pantry, everything is concealed and easy to access.
The master bedroom has a king bed with ample storage for clothes in the custom wardrobes.
Fully equipped laundry with front loader washing machine for those on extended stays.
The skylight in the bathroom is perfectly placed to look up at the sky whilst relaxing and unwinding and features the exposed original wall for aesthetics.
Outside there are two options, the large bench seat to have a drink or bite to eat, or the alfresco, with table and barbecue for those beautiful balmy nights. It is under cover and has fans and outdoor blinds to make the space more comfortable.
